Passionate eyes of Raymond Lewis

Raymond Anthony Lewis Junior was born on May 15th in the year 1975 and is an American football linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens for the entire duration of his seventeen-year career in the NFL. He started off playing football in college for the Miami Hurricanes, which is where he earned All-America honors. After that, Raymond was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 1996 NFL draft in the first round. Then, after he retired in the year 2012, he became the last active player from the team’s inaugural season. Immediately, Raymond became the leader on defense when he started playing and he led the team in tackles even when he was a rookie. It was the first of fourteen different times that he led the Ravens in tackles.

Raymond ended up pleading guilty to obstruction of justice in connection with the stabbing of two men in the year 2000. Surprisingly enough, this didn’t stop his career as the very next season, he was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year and went on to lead Ravens’ record-setting defense. They established a sixteen-game single-season record for the fewest points allowed—at one hundred and sixty-five—and the fewest rushing yards allowed—at nine hundred and seventy. This all eventually led to their victory in Super Bowl XXXV. More than that, Raymond also became the second linebacker to win the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award, as well as the first to win the award on the winning Super Bowl Team. Take a look at his NFL stats below.

Here are his NFL career stats.
